Studio brief:
Editorial brief - 04 - Redesign and produce an architectural magazine ( Architects Journal, Blue Print, Architectural Press, etc). Or even a magazine like Creative Review. Something within the creative industries.
Background/considerations:
Research into layout, type and all aspects of editorial design.
Photo books, architectural magazines/ books. Considering how its design can relate to architecture. Using knowledge of architectural structures and translating this into editorial layouts.
Use of both existing and custom typefaces relating to the magazine's design.
Requirements:
A large body of work and research, very high quality and possibly innovative response to a set brief.
The outcome will need to be finished to a almost perfect standard. (No Mistakes!) And show how the magazine's design would relate to a number of issues. With grid consistency and layout.
Target Audience: architects, designers, readers, creatives. the online audience. Print lovers.
Deliverables:
Printed, high quality publication, at least 1 copy. Research into where it can be printed on a small print run. Looking at interesting techniques and designs.
Supporting information:
Experience in magazines and mag design and culture.
Brief deadline:
As this brief is a magazine redesign from this point (12th of March it will be around 1 month. This would be the typical turn around for a printed magazine.
