Great Ormond Street Hospital Wayfinding and Signage.

This article I have found on creative review on the way finding system for Great Ormond Street Hospital that gives a fantastic insight into not only how a way finding system can be design but also the use of animals within this relating perfectly to my Tropical World signage. The idea being that within a hospital environment a illustration of a and something light hearted and fun can distract the patients from why they are in the hospital in the first place and it become a more fun and friendly environment.

The colours shown represent a different building within the hospital and are incredibly clear and distinguishable from one another this is vital in way finding to not course confusion. They six colours would be a create way of representing the different species of animal on show at the Tropical World. Tho the green colour on white becomes a little difficult to read from further away

These animal icons are based on different animal characters that have been draw. This idea of making a character rather than just a random symbol would defiantly work within my project. This allows the same character to be used again to show different things around the environment and display important information like for example (always wash your hands) and the character doing this in an illustration. Doing this makes for a more recognisable and memorable design.
