Museum Branding - Drawing and creating a typeface

In light of the research into typographic forms that are created using simplistic shapes, these drawings have been created. These in turn have formed the basic structures of the MCB Typeface. Keeping the shapes to a minimum allows for clearer and more direct communication.

The capital A proved very difficult to get right, the larger wide A didn't feel inline with the rest of the typeface, a more abstract A was selected. The typeface in a way designs itself from this.

Writing out words made understand what needed to be changed much easier. These variations of colour and names of artists show how the type can be used.

The selection of shapes above are all that is needed to create the full typeface. I also experimented with some numbers to get a better understanding of how it might look. These 17 shapes will provide a basis to continue into other areas of the branding.
