Michael Cina Document Series
These album covers designed by Michael Cina show a beautiful tactility and personal feel. The choice of contrasting and complimentary colours really make the designs stand out and feel very different to normal album cover design. I love the raw feel to the design, the designer does not feel th need to make the designs perfect and leaves in the creases and ruff edges. This gives the design much more of a intimate feel and highlights the near care free approach to the designs. In terms of materials the variety in paper stock and different types of material is very clear even on screen. I think the different textures of the materials give the designs this extra sense of depth and intensity. How the different transparency's and textures of the papers work together is something I think works excellently within these designs and I would love to try and emulate within my own workings.
