Creating a publication for flood infomation.

We have been given the task in small groups to look at the recent flood information for leeds and design a small leaflet considering the hierarchy of information and what is most important and where it should be on the page. The info included things like, important phone numbers, radio channels to listen to and Facebook and Twitter pages.

We in our group firstly discussed what kind of leaflet size and folding we felt was most appropriate considering that the information had to be quickly viewed and couldn't be too of the point. We decided a simple one page leaflet with information on the front about what the leaflet communicates this being 'What to do in a flood!' and on the back the the relative phone number etc.

We then though about layout and hierarchy of the information and divided it into low medium and high risk accordingly. The phone numbers being high, radio stations being medium and social media sites being low. We also decided we needed a small illustration of the different flood levels according to these different categories.

This is our small leaflet showing the low, medium and high risk information. This mock up really helped me understand layout and the importance of seeing the information in a more finalised form. This design I feel correctly shows the information in a clear and concise manor.
