OUGD505 - Design Practice 2 - Leeds Public Spaces - Hepworth Print Fair Research

As studio brief 01 is to create a traditionally printed poster it seemed useful to see the level of quality on show at the Hepworth Print Fair. Overall it was really exceptional, most of thee works had a common them of really bright and playful colour as well as use of ruff cut out and hand drawn shapes. These themes however are not prominent within the initial ideas I have explored. The print fair also featured some - Grayson Perry, Peter Blake and Damien Hirst prints. The Peter Blake print pictured above used diamond dust to give it an extra dimension of intrigue. Though this would not be possible using some kind of special inks or including something different within the process would make the finished poster more exciting. Overall the print fair was mainly a great place to collect primary research and see what kind of work is being sold in terms of printed artworks.
