OUGD505 - Design Practice 2 - Product Range Distribution - Large Quality Boarder Images.

After a lot of research and a considerable amount of time searching Google Earth Pro I have collected a number of images at a really high quality. These can be expand on and set a fantastic basis to work from for the rest of this project. The images have been selected on their interesting imagery, different political and social contexts and informed by my online research into dangerous borders. 

Bethlehem - Jerusalem Border. (Israel - Palestine)

The boarder has seen much dispute over the last 2000 years. A really interesting boarder with many disputes on both sides. 

Bolivia - Brazil.

The deforestation on the Brazilian side is really evident. This is of course a very serious issue that is illustrated in this image.

Brazil - Argentina , Southern Border. split by a river this is a really interesting border that is always changing based on the water erosion.

China - North Korean Border. Though beautiful in this image this boarder is a real hot spot for immigration and due to lack of food and infrastructure on the North Korea side many people a year try to cross this border. The Chinese government have upped their defences in the last few years as a result of this.

North and South Korea. The DMZ, one of the most famous and dangerous borders in the world, on the North Korea side apparently one of the largest armies in the world. SO many political and social issues. 

Egypt - Israel Border. Large contrasts are seen from these images. The actual border and split is very evident.

Spain - Gibraltar Border. After the UK's decision to leave the EU this border is as tense as ever. With the two countries not really seeing eye to eye this border is often very difficult to access by car and shown very small here the queuing around the block of cars wanting to enter Gibraltar. 

Haiti - Dominican Republic. Compared to the poorer Haiti, the Dominican Republic is very different. Many try to cross this border in search for a better quality of life. The deforestation is so clear from the two sides of the border. 

India - Pakistan Border. One of the most dangerous borders in the world with the two countries still technically at war this is one of the most militarised and largest borders in the world. The images show a real contrast from one side to the other and the border line is so evident.

 India - Pakistan - China - Karakoram Pass. One of the most heavily disputed boarders in the world the Karakoram mountain Range marks the meeting of these three massive countries. The beautiful nature of the landscape maybe doesn't reflect the conflict between the countries. 

China - Nepal - Mount Everest marks the boarder between the two countries. Not only being the highest point on Earth this boarder is visually unique. 

Namibia - Zambia - Zimbabwe - Botswana. One of the only borders in the world where all four countries meet. 

Niger - Chad - another really dangerous border. The fight with the Boko-Haram often takes place along this stretch. This is contradictory to the amazing beauty of this image. 

Panama - Colombia, The Darien Gap is a remote, roadless swath of jungle on the border of Panama & Colombia. In contrast to many of the borders no walls are needed with this vast jungle making this one of the most unique borders in the world. A drug trafficking hot spot the only way to cross is the Darien Gap.

South Africa - Lesotho, The Sani Pass one of the hardest to reach border crossings in the world the shear face of the Lesotho cliffs makes this border totally unique. 

China - Kyrgyzstan Border. The Torugart Pas, Tian Shan mountain range near the border between the Naryn Province of Kyrgyzstan and the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China.

A really important and ancient boarder crossings that is amazing beautiful from this image. 

Turkey - Syria . In many ways this marks the boarder of Europe and the Middle East. The boarder has seen much conflict and many political and social issues. The image shows different developments on each side and paints an interesting picture of the two nations. 

Western Sahara - Mauritania, A really dangerous border that has seen much conflict. The two nations have many mine fields around the border. This image puts it into a really beautiful light but it is one of the most debated borders in the world. 

USA - Mexico Border. The most famous of all the borders this border has seen a lot of publicity in recent times with the controversy with Donald Trumps wall in the US election. The border is visually one of the most evident borders in the world. In Tijuana the buildings on the Mexican side are right up against the wall. This is contrasting to the image above of the crop circles on the Mexican side. This is a really controversial topic in politics. How this is treated in the work will be important to the overall communication.
