OUGD505 - Design Practice 2 - Product Range Distribution - Printed Pages.
The newest Printed Pages magazine. Part of the Leeds Print Festival the Art Director of the magazine gave a talk about the past issues but mainly about the new issue. He explained that some of the issues didn't really get the recognition and reception that they at 'Its Nice That' wanted. To try and push this and gain more recognition online and in the creative media they have really tried to push the content in this next issue.
Happiness takes centre stage in the issue and they aim to try and bring more happiness into what they described as a terrible 2016. The design uses a stripped back aproach looking at the content being the focal point.
As explained they wanted to really push the designs, with an online order of the magazine it features all of this extra collateral. This is to try and not only promote the issue but highlight the other areas of design that the topic feeds into. The inclusion of a poster in magazines is always something that the audience engages with and enjoys. Especially if is an extension of the publication. This could be a consideration for this project. As well as this the inclusion of stickers makes for a very complete package, and only at £10 it is very cheap considering. This extra collateral is something to consider.
