Outlining the brief,
Looking at the most interesting borders around the world, Highlighting the political/social/environmental issues these create. Displayed in the form of a publication.
Questions-
Considering the descriptions and the photographic imagery, how could this project be taken further?
- Use facts & shapes to influence the design. As there is so much information this could be a way of making it more accessible to all.
- Take shapes from the photography and extend into the information. A connection between the two needs to be made to make it engaging.
-Infographics? E.g use the length of a border to make a point of the cost of wall/fence?
-Full bleed images for the spreads.
-Interesting typesetting infographics
Is the publication format appropriate?
-yes!, the contrast between full-bleed images and type allows the viewer to refer to one another.
-A publication would communicate the issue further.
Do you think the work should be more factual or displayed as an art/photography book?
- Photography - makes context more engaging.
- A good mix of both
How can the design be more informed by the context?
- Perhaps more broken up text? rather than one block.
- Bordered layout
- Emphasis on borders - continue the borderline onto the next page.
- infographics & comparasions.
Any other comments/ideas suggestions?
-Full bleed images
- An interesting idea
- photography? gifs? video?
