As detailed above this brief asked us in small teams to - Name, Brand & Promote a week of industry lead talks and workshops.
This was an amazing opportunity to work with a budget, create some real outcomes that would be used and interacted with as well as a way of getting work out there.
The opportunity was too good to miss and I asked my flatmate James if he wanted to work on it with me, he seemed keen, this is someone `I have worked collaboratively previously and we work well, we both have different skill sets and an eye for quality. We also asked Ed for help in some areas especially feedback.
As shown above, the brief is all about promoting the talks and showing that as a course we are interacting with some really cool and diverse professionals. The brief was very simple in its outcomes and they would formulate an identity. We felt right away a clear consistency from image too image was key.
We began by researching various events that we felt had a strong identity and looking at what traits they all carry.
These 9 different events all seemed to have similar branding, unified through a singular typeface and a distinctive use of bright colours make each standout. Which is of course key. Overall these images showed use what has been done before and how we can try something slightly different.
In terms of the events unique selling point, we felt it was in the large range of different speakers, this would need to be highlighted. Having so many female speakers was something really important and the diversity in this would need to be highlighted.
