First Discussion -
In our group of four we met up and began discussing our view of the project.
We began by speaking about how it would be beneficial to create a least four stories highlighting how ballet is more than just a dance, the example of a zoomed in shot of a dancers feet panning out to show the stage and the other dancers, then the audience, then the theatre highlighting the size of the massive size of the production.
We agreed that each of the four members of the group should formulate at least two short stories and come back together to decided which could be taken forward.
James in our group had already conducted some research into the project in the form of a questionnaire to class mates about why they don't interact with ballet. The feedback was that it seemed expensive, old fashioned, posh snobs, that they respect it but don't go and see it, and its not compatible with everyday life.
We as a group discussed that we should try and play against these themes in the project to try and educate young people more.
We also felt it was necessary to each submit at least two pieces of work to the group chat that we feel relates to the project and our own ambitions.
We all agreed that next Thursday we could all come back together with more research and information on the project as well as the two narratives and the visual research.
