OUGD505 - Leeds Public Spaces - Further Research of ideas. - Idea 5 - Travel Ban Protest.

Idea 5. Looking at the recent political protest to the Trump travel ban in America, protests taking place on the Headrow in Leeds. The issue deals with many political, social, ethics and economic issues. There has been so much talk, and content out there about trump, the travel ban, his presidency so it will be interesting seeing how the content can be innovative and new. There is a large history of Asian communities in the North of England and this could be a possible thing to look into under this theme. As well as being a very plotically charged issue they is many considerations that will need to be looks at.

The Trump protests seem to the most current issue of the time and it may be more appropriate for the requirements of studio brief 02 to look into this issue as it is may be better explored. For this idea finding a voice in a sea of noise is another issue, would the work really be significant or just adding to what is out there. If the idea is good enough this could be an interesting thing to research.

My idea I think need to relate to the fact there are large Asian and Muslim communities in Leeds and that this needs to be highlighted.

Top Left -Inspired by the Trump protests a poster showing large hand drawn type stating. - 'We are all welcome' highlighting the outrageous travel ban in the US.

Top Right - Inspired by the really graphic typographic work of Antony Burrill. Again highlighting the US travel ban and the Trump presidency.

Bottom Left - A picture showing the eye catching images of the anti trump march and overlaid with strong graphic type stating - Better Together. Trying to tap into the fact their are large British and Asian communities in Leeds living alongside each-other.

Bottom Right - Another really graphic typographic image stating yes to - and listing the various countries effected by the Travel Ban and then no to -
