The imagery connected with Louis Le Prince and his work. Very traditional, all using black and white, slightly surrealist and strange videography. Connected to the early advances in cinema, Victorian England and the earliest documented moving image of Leeds. The idea could play on the mystery of Louis Le Princes' death as well as looking at the unique nature of the videos.
Top Left. Displaying the frames of the film in simple grid, reflecting the images above. With the title in woodblock type displayed bellow informed by the printing techniques
available in 1888.
Top Right.
Creating a two image lenticular of the video clip so when moved around the image appears to change and move.
Botton Left. A large Screen printed image of the video half toned for added clarity. Alongside considered type at the bottom.
Bottom Right. Displaying the description of the image large filling the space, showing the image in the background.
The idea of basing the print on the film made by Louis Le Prince would lend itself to many different outcomes, there would need to be further research conducted into Victorian Cinema, Film in Leeds as well as the social, cultural and political roles the design would take up. The lenticular idea is interesting and would be something very different so further exploration is key.
