In this brief there was a real opportunity to work as a team of people that you might not usually work with, this can sometimes be challenging with the contrast in opinions and style our team however really worked together. Using each of the different skills we had to work alongside each other. Our designs initially were very limited and way too over the top, I found after the group critique with the four remaining teams our ideas started to come together with much more conviction and seemed to relate much more appropriately to the theme. The consistency across all our design was clear and we worked much better together in working to one theme.
This project for me shows the importance of looking closely at the content, and how the designs can reflect this, it is even more important in exhibition branding. Our original designs did not in any way explore the theme of an analogue printing process and seemed in a way to be distracting from the work. This however is very different to final ideas the theme is much more distinctive and clear. This shows the importance of really analysing the content if we had looked closer at what defines the exhibition and how this be could reflected in our graphics.
In this project my work should have reflected my research more distinctly, there was no clear links to this and could have been very useful in making the designs more professional.
I am pleased overall with the level of effort and time put into this project and I feel I made some significant contributions to our groups work.
