My aims an ambitions for this project initially was to create something different form what I had previously worked on in this module. Looking back on my first few weeks in of first year has made me realise how much I have come along interms of application and knowledge of graphic design. I was initially unsure on what my favourite typeface was because I didn’t know enough I now am unsure because I like so many! In this project more than any I have done I have really leant to be concise in my language and design decisions, in briefs I would initially look to explain everything I was doing but I have began to add much more reasoning behind these decisions. This project I felt I identified a theme that would really resonate with first year students and related to my experience of the course I had very little knowledge of design studios but wanted to know more. Instagram being so popular and a great way of seeing new things this project would encourage the students to surround themselves with graphic design imagery and see a range of different examples of style and techniques through out the year and not just at one point. The word follow seems to sum this up they would continue to follow these designers after they had seen the publication.
If I was to make any improvements in my work I think the print quality could have possibly been improved along with some more in-depth research. I am however very pleased with how engaging and appropriate my designs were they related importantly to my time in first year and showcased some of the new design skills I have learnt. One thing that I think makes this design particularly unique is the use of both online and digital formats this encourages a wider audience and can be read by anyone.
