Its nice that- Our round up of interesting currency redesigns.

This its nice that article looks at interesting currency redesigns from around the world some being just proposed ideas and others being real and in circulation. One of them being the new pixellated banknote design for Norway's Norges bank. I think the design is totally brilliant and is such a nice change. Using pixels is a very innovative idea and will rescind with a lot more of the younger generation and relate to the beautiful landscapes of Norway but also this idea of the more digital age of technology. The design is fairly simplistic but shows how minor details can be used to great effect. I love the variety of coloured squares that come together to create one unified colour. The design is a great example of how modern money can look and remain interesting and simplistic at the same time.

The other piece of work is another idea for the redesign of the American Dollar bank note the looking at the theme of human discovery, connecting achievement, theory and the fundamental properties of life. This connection with technology and the current world is clear, within his designs the emphasis is on the new culture of America shown through the use of modern architecture circuit boards, using the images from the moon landing and looking at using geometric patterns throughout. One this that have been done to make sure the bank notes are not too controversial is not include any important people, this removes any unwanted controversy from the designs and make the designs all about the quality of the work. Again the use of a much more clear numbering system has been used and the clarity of the designs is evident.
