Grand Budapest Hotel Bank Notes

This currency design for the film Grand Budapest Hotel created by Annie Atkins shows the kind of fake world that can be illustrated through its currency. The design has been made in reference to classical pieces of Eastern European currency from a similar time period to the film, the designs really reflect the avant-garde, elaborate styles typically seen of this time. The green and purple contrast each other very strongly and add to this sense of a almost visually harsh looking bank note. This design has opened my eyes to how creating a currency for a film is a possibility within this project. It created something recognisable and relatable that can have some obvious parts and more subtle areas.
