Hanna Von Goeler

After seeing her work on DesignBoom.com I wanted to look further into the work of Hanna von Goeler and in particular her currency work. She uses the American Dollar as her canvas and creates these very beautiful and interesting artworks from them. 

I love the way she puts new meaning into something that is very world renowned and seen everywhere. The defacing of the bank note removes its value but in this case adds so much more.

I had not before thought about printing directly onto existing notes but this could be something that might not have been done before. There is something about creating beauty or highlighting it in what it seen as a typically boring object.
